Round 13: Miles Cipriani

Last week in Miles Cipriani's house tragedy struck when his wife and the mother of his children Sarah was squashed to death by a falling satalite, Miles fell into a deep depression and was brought back to reality by the help of his mother Nancy, Nancy later passed away of old age, Miles ran into his real estate office secratary Ruby Cedar and the two had dinner which led to a bearing of souls and the two realized a love that was never before possible, Laurana became a teen, Miles reached TOC, Ruby moved in, and Gwen left for university.

Things in this house have been in a kind of whirlwind lately what with Sarah's unexpected passing, and Ruby moving in. Thomas and Laurana, Mile's middle and youngest children, had taken to Ruby and loved having her around. Mile's oldest Gwen on the other hand, had serious doubts about Ruby. And though she had left for uni, she had made sure that Ruby knew how she felt before going.

Ruby had tried to make amends with Gwen, explaining to her that she loved her father, and that she never wanted to take the place of her mother. That her intentions were only to be her friend. But by the time the taxi arrived to take Gwen to Uni, Ruby was done. She was tired of being berated and insulted by a teenager when she had wanted nothing but to make things better between them. Though it hurt her to see Gwen leave while feeling this way about her, she was happy to see her go...maybe in time they could build a relationship.

Knowing that things had been difficult from all angles, Miles had tried to play peacemaker. He was glad that his oldest child was headed off to get a higher education, but he was saddened that she had not had the time to get to know Ruby and to understand their relationship was based on real love, not money, or lonliness.

By the time he got home, he was too late. Gwen had already left. But Miles was not to late for something else he had been waiting to do. He told Ruby he had something that he needed to ask her about.

And then he got down on one knee and proposed. Ruby was speechless...not because she did not want to marry Miles, but more so that they had discussed it and Miles had not been ready to get married again. Though the rock in that little box told a different tale.

As soon as she could get the word out she shouted yes and lept into his arms.

The two then celebrated their engagment privately.

Ruby really had gone out of her way to make things comfortable for the kids.

She even went above and beyond, inviting over the headmaster and getting them enrolled into private school.

**side note: I never knew this prior to it happening unexpectedly, but the headmaster helped himself to some espresso and I got a 10 point bonus to his visit for him having a cup of coffee!!**

She wasn't working at the time as Miles refused to allow her to continue as his secretary and insisted instead that she was his business partner, but she was not allowed to start until after the wedding.

So she had alot more free time to spend relaxing and enjoying life...and that is exactly what she did.

Miles on the other hand was hard at work keeping his businesses in line and maintaing his position as a general in the Rose Island Armed Forces.

But he had an excellent staff at each business that he owned and through his motivational work style, Miles kept everything running smoothly.

Before long, the big day had arrived.

The couple exchanged vows in a private ceremony with just a few close friends and family.

Due to the amount of major events in the house, I nearly missed this important birthday!

He went into the bathroom as an adult...

...and came out an elder...LOL!

But that doesn't end the big news for this family.

Ruby was expecting!

The family welcomed a beautiful baby boy they named Christiaan.

Miles and his new son were nearly inseperable.

When Miles went missing, Ruby always knew where to look for him. He stood in Christiaan's room at his crib side lovingly watching his son sleep. Sure, he had three older children, but he had never dreamed of a fourth. The fact that he could have gone through everything he had been through in his life recently and be where he was at now, simply amazed him. And little Christiaan was living proof of this.

Miles was just as proud of a father of his older children. Laurana had taken a job in business, and had gotten off to a rocky start, but eventually she made it to the top!

And Thomas out of all the kids was closest to Ruby.

Those two spent every morning getting in an hour of cartoon network together.

But Laurana and Thomas were ready to head off to college.

(forgot to get his taxi pick...oops)

With the other kids out of the house Miles and Ruby had a quiet birthday celebration for their little one.

The house is quiet for the first time in several rounds, and Miles and Ruby are as happy as teenagers in love and are enjoying raising their adorable son.

Accomplishments this round: Miles and Ruby are married, Miles is an elder, Christiaan is born, Laurana gets teen TOC, Laurana and Thomas move to uni, Christiaan is a toddler.
