Last week at
Miles and Ruby Cipriani's house, Miles and Ruby were married and welcomed their first child together, a son named Christiaan who later became a toddler, Miles became an elder, and Thomas and Laurana headed off to uni.
Sensing that something was worrying his wife, Miles tried cheering Ruby up. He knew that she had been thinking alot about how much time they had left together, and he couldn't blame her. He had been thinking alot about the same thing. The last thing he wants to do is leave his family. To get her mind off of things, he told her to head out to her favorite shop Cold Issue Clothing, and that he would stay with Christiaan. With a wink he told her to pick up something special, and that she would need it for the opening of the new club in town on Friday night.
Shopping always helped get her mind off of things. She couldn't believe that Miles wanted to go to the club opening. She knew it was not something that interested him. Between running his businesses and working as a General, Miles was usually (and understandably) too tired to go out much. But she was sure he would love the outfit she had chosen for their special night out.

Ruby wanted nothing more than to make this a special occasion for her husband. Little did she know that he had already decided to make it special for her as well. Without telling his wife, Miles had purchased club Calypso. He had been spending what little time he had to get everything in order for the grand opening, and he could hardly wait to tell her.

But first they had a birthday celebration. It was time for Christiaan to become a child.

Unable to keep it to himself, Miles reviels the news to Ruby that he had purchased club Calypso for her.
In shock and disbelief, Ruby didnt know what to say. Miles had always been a great man who did everything for her, but this time he had fullfilled a dream that she had never thought possible. She wouldn't inherit any of the other businesses, as they would rightfully go to his oldest daughter Gwen, but Calypso was hers.
Miles had spent time talking with Gwen about the other businesses, and as soon as she graduated from Academe Le Bloom, she would assume ownership of all four.
Ruby and Gwen had never gotten along, and though it was something that Ruby could understand having moved in not long after Gwen's mother's death, it was not something she questioned. All she had ever wanted was Miles, not the things that he owned, or even his money...all of it was a bonus to the love she and Miles shared.
As the days passed, Miles became weaker and more tired. His age and all of his hard work was catching up with him. There were even times that Ruby had to step in and help out at the shops.
Luckily Miles had hired great staff for all of the businesses, and Ruby even had the pleasure of promoting her friend Shaunna to manager of the Toy Shop. (Rank 9)

As the opening of Calypso drew nearer, Ruby worried that Miles would be too tired to join her. Thinking that it would help, she ordered a jug of a special juice, touted as "Elixir of Life", the juice promised to add days to ones life. Hoping to prove to Miles that it was their ticket to a longer life together, Ruby drank a big glass herself.
She felt great. Life surged through her and she felt better than she had in a long while. Immediately she wanted have another glass, but she reminded herself that she had gotten it for Miles. Stepping aside she hoped that he would get the same great, refreshing feeling.
But when Miles drank it, it had a negative effect. In fact, it may have taken days off of his life. Instantly he wanted the foul substance out of his house. As she watched him suffer, Ruby was hurt, confused, and ever so worried for her husband. All she could thinkg was that the Elixir had felt amazing...she helped herself to one more quick glass before she dumped the rest into the sink.

The big night had arrived, and as she had suspected, Miles was too ill to go. Opting to stay home and relax over a night of drinking and dancing, Miles said goodbye to his wife. Ruby reluctantly left her husband and headed for the club.
Nervous and excited, Ruby arrived at the club and everything was in full swing. She couldn't believe that it was all hers. Miles had set it up to run like his other businesses, like a well oiled machine. She had a full staff of fabulous employees and had nothing to worry about adside from having a great time.
She was missing Miles and drinking a bit too much. After a long night of partying with friends, Ruby found herself being carried to her car by her close friend Milo Terrano. Thanking him, she handed him the keys to her car and he took her home. The night had been a success, everything had gone perfectly...or so she thought.

Not long after the opening, Ruby started to feel ill. She wondered if the Elixir was to blame, but soon she was showing signs of pregnancy.
Elated, the possibility of another child had energized Miles. Even Christiaan was excited at the idea of a brother or a sister. Instead of worrying about the future, they started welcoming it again.
Accomplishments this round: Miles purchases Calypso night club for Ruby, Christiaan is a child, Ruby is pregnant.
